Obituary

Rob passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 after a short illness with Stage 4 Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer. He was born in Needham, graduating Needham High in 1976. He spent many years residing in Foxborough and then North Attleborough. He was predeceased by his parents James Q. Adams and Helen M. Adams formerly of Needham and Sandwich.

An award winning pressman and instructor/demonstrator by trade, he spent many years employed by Heidelberg USA, as well as many local print shops in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Rob’s love of motorcycles and especially his customized Harley-Davidson allowed him many adventures including trips to Sturgis, SD and Laconia, NH during bike weeks. He also loved a good vibrant fireworks show, and became a licensed pyrotechnician creating beautiful displays throughout New England.

Rob was a devoted father to his son Ian of Upton. He is also survived by his brother James (Jay) and his wife Amy (Barton) of Windham, NH. His sister Carol and her husband Abraham Adhanom of Lexington, and his sister Nancy and her husband John Gallello of Needham. Rob had many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

We would like to thank the people of Hope Health and Bristol Elder Care for their caring and service to Robert during his time of medical attention.

A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham on Saturday, July 27 from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
