Dean T. Leighton, 72, of Chester, NH, died Tuesday July 16, 2024 in the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. He was born on October 1, 1951 in Derry, NH. He was a son of the late Walton and Ruth (Spencer) Leighton, and had been a lifelong resident of Chester. Dean had attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry. He was employed as the parts manager for RC Hazelton Equipment in Manchester for many years. Dean was a member of the Chester volunteer fire department for over 30 years.
He is survived by his sister, Charlene Leighton; three brothers, Stanton Leighton, Barrie Leighton, and Lynwood Leighton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 22nd at 10:00am in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester Fire Department or Chester Fire Explorers, C/O Chester Fire Dept., 27 Murphy Dr., Chester, NH 03036. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
