John J. Danca, age 83, of Sharon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his home on Thursday, July 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah E. (McGeown) Danca, to whom he was wed for fifty-seven years at the time of her death on February 26, 2021.
Born in Boston, MA June 16, 1941, he was a loving son of the late Salvatore J. and Gertrude C. (Graham) Danca.
John grew up in Sharon and was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School. He had made his home in Sharon for most of his life and along with his late wife, proudly owned and operated the Danca Corporation in Sharon.
John’s much-loved family was the essence of his life and especially enjoyed his grandchildren’s activities and events. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon and gardening, woodworking and dancing. John will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him for generous nature and always being there to help his neighbors.
He is survived by his devoted children, Sarah E. Cuy and her husband Dennis of Warwick, RI, John J. Danca, Jr. and his wife Kala of Mansfield and Susan M. McDonald and her husband David of Medway. He was the cherished grandfather of Anna McDonald, Kathryn Cuy, Maeve Danca, Christopher McDonald, Aidan Cuy, Sarah McDonald, Mia McDonald and Cynthia Danca.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 19 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon. Burial followed at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Visiting Hours were omitted and those wishing may remember John with a donation in his memory made to a charity of choice or Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
