Maria A. (Garofalo) Solari, age 88, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, July 9th, at the Atrium at Drum Hill of North Chelmsford, following a long battle with dementia. Born and raised in Montella, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Serafina (Di Nenna) Garofalo. Maria immigrated to the US in the 1960s, first to Boston’s North End before settling in Medford. Maria was employed as a seamstress. She was a devoted wife and mother, and took great joy in returning to Italy to visit with family there.

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Narciso Solari, and the devoted mother of Serafina Whalen of Lowell, Angela Solari, and Giuseppe Solari and his wife Lori of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Maxwell Whalen, and Kayla and Victoria Blizzard.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Sunday, July 14th from 3 through 7 PM, and again on Monday, July 15th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
