Enzo C. Squeri

Enzo C. Squeri, age 89, of Arlington passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, following a period of declining health. Enzo was the beloved husband for 62 years of Anna R. (Piumi) Squeri. Born in Cella di Noceto, Parma, Italy, he was the son of the late Aristodemo and Maria (Baratta) Squeri.

Enzo emigrated to the United States in December of 1961, first settling in Somerville for a few years before moving to Arlington where he has been a resident ever since. As a young man Enzo worked for a number of years as a construction foreman with the Granite Research Company of Worcester and prior to his retirement he worked for many years as a sales associate with the former Rino Gnesi Company of Medford which was an import company of fine Italian goods. Enzo possessed a wonderful personality and loved being social and interacting with people. He cherished spending time with his dearest friends, being a prankster, playing cards together weekly for many many years, he also looked forward to taking his annual hunting trip to Pittsburgh, New Hampshire every October. In his leisure time he enjoyed wine making, gardening and producing award winning tomatoes, and was a talented and true handyman always willing to help everyone with projects around their homes. However, Enzo’s greatest joy was his family and nothing made him happier than to be surround by those he loved most, especially his grandchildren. Enzo will fondly be remembered for his love of life, his hard work ethic, and devotion to his family and dearest friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Anna, Enzo is survived by his children, Daniel E. Squeri and his wife Deborah of Burlington, Carlo C. Squeri and his wife Christina of Chelmsford, and Sandra Spencer and her husband Randy of North Attleboro. He was the loving Nonno of Briana and Tristan Squeri, Katrina, Sara and Julia Squeri, Talia, Ava, and Francesca Spencer. Brother of the late Carlo Squeri and Dirce Squeri. Further survived by many nieces and nephews in Italy as well as many dear longtime friends.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, July 12th, 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 32 Medford St., Arlington, at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, July 11th, from 4 to 7 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Enzo’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org
