James Peter McGrath
6/26/2024

James Peter McGrath passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic on June 26th. He was 77. He was raised in Somerville by his parents, the late James and Margaret McGrath, who were both immigrants from Ireland. As an adult James moved to Medford.

James was a kind and loving friend. At the time of his passing he was still employed by Sloane Enterprises, where he had worked for the last 40 years as a building superintendent. He was a fan of all the local major sports teams: the Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, but most especially the Patriots, and in particular Tom Brady. James was a statistical genius about all of these teams. He owned several greyhounds over the years and enjoyed going to Saratoga annually to see the horses.
James was a beloved friend of Janice Kasiecki of Weston and he was the caretaker of Karen Kasiecki of Medford.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, July 10th from 11 AM – 12 Noon, followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 12 Noon. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Winchester.
