Mary R. (Carbone) Terrien, age 100, passed away on Thursday, July 4th, at Life Care Center of Stoneham. Raised and educated in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Romano) Carbone. Mary was a long-time Medford resident, and was very active in the public school lunch program. She was also an active member of St. Francis parish. Mary’s favorite time was spent with family, especially during the holidays, with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred “Terry” J. Terrien, and the devoted mother of Catherine Summa and her husband John of Medford, Mary Tilton and her late husband Stephen of Malden, and the late George Terrien and his surviving wife Corrine of NH. She was the loving grandmother of the late Joseph Tilton, George Terrien, Jr. and his wife Karen of NH, Melissa DeMeo and her husband Steven of Medford, Gregory Terrien and his wife Jen of Tewksbury, the late Christopher Tilton, Jennifer Tilton of Lebanon, NH, and Cassandra Terrien and her Fiancé Hank Freitas of NH. Mary was a loving great grandmother to John and Matthew DeMeo, Rubinson Noel, Jr., Ruby and Rushanti Noel, Joseph Tilton, Aiden, Brodyn and Axton Freitas, and Tyler, Rylei, Emma, Lydia and Jana Terrien. She was predeceased by her dear brothers and sisters: Joseph, Susie and John Carbone, Angelina and Antonio DiFronzo, and Carmella and Harry Stecchi. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, July 10th from 4 through 8 PM, and again on Thursday morning at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Mary’s name to the American Heart Asc., PO BOX 417005, Boston, MA 02241, or to the Resident Activities Fund at Life Care Center of Stoneham.
