Scott Shay Wheeler, aged 70, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Providence, RI. Born on January 6, 1954, in Canandaigua, NY, he was the son of Claude and Wylma (Pierce) Wheeler. Scott was a man of many passions and talents and was deeply cherished by his family and friends.

Scott's life was marked by his profound love for music and craftsmanship. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and found solace and expression through playing the trumpet. His favorite trumpeters were Chet Baker, Maynard Ferguson and Miles Davis. Scott’s musical talent was not just a hobby but a companion through the various phases of his life. He was also an accomplished general contractor and carpenter, known for his intricate finish work, especially in his own home.

In addition to his professional achievements, Scott had a creative side that was expressed through painting. He specialized in watercolors, creating beautiful portraits of family members, which remain treasured keepsakes. A sports enthusiast, Scott was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, along with other local teams, including the Celtics, Bruins, and Red Sox. Scott’s latter months were spent enjoying the thrill of the game from his comfortable recliner, capturing the excitement of every play.

A dedicated patriot, Scott held a deep affection for the USA, collecting 'Statues of Liberty' and holding a particular admiration for President Ronald Reagan, whose messages resonated deeply within him.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rose Mirakian-Wheeler; his beloved son, Chase Cameron Wheeler; his daughter-in-law, Erica Bartemio Wheeler; his cherished grandson, Joseph Scott Wheeler and his mother-in-law Rolande Mirakian.

Scott came from a large family of ten. His family includes his sister Norma (deceased), spouse, Kuhl Green (deceased), children Debbie, Jeff, Amy and Nathan Green; brother Mervil (deceased) spouse, Yvonne, (deceased) children Claudia, Donald, Sally, Janine, Mark Wheeler; brother Roger (deceased), spouse Barbara, children David, Julia and Brian Wheeler; sister Melody (deceased) spouse, Roger Senne, children Gregg, Renee, Stephen, Rebecca, Timothy Senne; brother Bruce (deceased) spouse Alice, (deceased) children, Crystal and Brian Wheeler; sister Sandra spouse, William Lee, children, Kelly, Kathy (deceased), Kerri, Bill Lee Jr. (deceased); brother Verrol, former spouse Kathy, children Colleen and Christopher Wheeler; beloved sister Linda, spouse Graham Wood (deceased), children. Kimberley, Michael, Emily; twin brother Kirk, spouse Jan, children Sarah and Anna.

His life was enriched by the close friendships he held with Peter Angell, Pat Robinson, and Mark Weinstein, and with whom he shared many joyful and memorable moments. Scott loved them.

Scott's life was a vivid tapestry of dedication, love, and passion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him.

A service to honor Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 2:00 P.M. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church located at 2 Pine Street in Norton, MA.
