Frankie Christina Martin, 95 of Ventura, California passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 28th, 2024, at Rowe Residence in Ventura. Born on Huckleberry Mountain in Logan County, Arkansas on April 24th, 1929, to parents Frank and Esta Rogers amidst a large family of many siblings and loved ones. She graduated Valedictorian from Scranton High School, Arkansas on May 17th, 1946. Shortly after her graduation her family moved to Guadalupe, California. She married J.W. Martin in a small chapel on New Year's Day in 1950.

Frankie was very close to God and attended First Southern Baptist Church for most of her life where she regularly participated in bible study, small groups and even volunteered in the Nursery on Sundays. She especially loved holding the babies while serving in the nursery. Frankie later attended Orchard Community Church with her granddaughter Nicole Martin-Ward.

After her kids went away to college, she started working at a Maternity shop which later became the Uniforms Etc. She enjoyed interacting with customers and her co-workers. After her husband retired, they both started volunteering at FOOD Share of Ventura County. In 2013 she was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for over 15 years of dedicated service as an outstanding volunteer and community member.

Frankie is most fondly remembered by family and friends for her home cooked meals and desserts. There were regular Sunday dinners, holiday and birthday celebrations. She was known for her delicious desserts, especially her homemade German Chocolate Cake, pies and Christmas cookies that she would share with family and neighbors.

She is survived by her son, Larry Martin (wife Jennifer); grandchild Nicole Martin-Ward (husband Jacob), great grandchildren Connor, Ian and Grandson Alan Martin (fiancée Lorianne Sarsfield).

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Jake Martin, her parents, siblings and her son Jerry Martin. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to FOOD Share of Ventura County: www.foodshare.com/donate.
