J. Robert "Bob" Maxwell, 94, of Windham, NH, died Friday, June 28, 2024 at Windham Terrace, Windham NH after a brief illness. He was born May 26, 1930 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Harold and Ora (Fiskus) Maxwell. He spent most of his working life in Pittsburgh, PA. After retirement, he lived in Tucson, AZ for 20 years and relocated to Londonderry 13 years ago.
Bob started his career in the Navy. He then worked as an engineer for Westinghouse Electric, initially working to develop nuclear power plants for Navy ships. He then transitioned to marketing commercial power control systems and alternative energy systems (wind and solar) all over the world. In retirement, he was a passionate golfer and a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church of Londonderry.
He is survived by his son and his son's wife, J. Robert “Bob”, Jr. and Mary Lou Maxwell of Londonderry, NH; two grandchildren and their wives, Jim & Christine Maxwell and Michael & Jacqueline Maxwell; and two great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Jessica Maxwell, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy "Doss" (Knowles) Maxwell, and his brother, Harold I. Maxwell.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00am at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, 1 South Rd., Londonderry, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
