Donald R. Benoit, 80, of Peabody, MA, died suddenly at home on June 26, 2024. He was the son of the late Charles A. Benoit, Jr. and Alyce C. (Roy) Benoit. He was born in Salem, MA, on December 5, 1943. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Antoinette M, his son, Jeffrey C Benoit and his wife, Samantha; his step-son, Steven R Perillo; his grandchildren, Ryan J Benoit; Alexandra (Lexi) Benoit; Holly Perillo and Lauren Santosuosso, two brothers, Charles A. Benoit III and his wife, Kathleen; Paul L. Benoit and his wife, Kathryn; a sister, Deara M. Bartlett and her husband, Richard H; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. H was predeceased by his step-son, John Perillo
Don was a 1961 graduate of Salem High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965, as an aircraft mechanic, stationed at McDill AFB in Florida. After his discharge, he worked at the GE plant in Lynn, MA, as a jet engine technician. After several years at GE, he left and began what was to be his life-long career as a carpenter and builder.
Services will be at Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., (Route 114 / 1-A) Salem, MA. Visiting hours: Tuesday, July 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm; and his Memorial Service: Wednesday, July 3rd, in the funeral home at 11:00 am.
