Obituary

IORIO, Joseph J., Jr. of Brewster, MA and Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Needham, MA passed away suddenly on June 22, 2024. Loving husband of the late Leslie Iorio (Burd), partner of Teri Riley, devoted father to Jonathan Iorio (Melissa Iorio), Alexander Iorio (Abigail Iorio), and ‘Gramps’ to his four grandkids Luke, Matt, Nicolette, and Brooke.

Joe grew up in Needham, MA, raised by his predeceased parents Dora and Joe Sr. He attended St. Sebastian’s School and went on to Northeastern University where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

After graduating from Northeastern University, Joe went into the family business with his father at Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning where he focused on sales, customer relationships and growing the business.

Joe was full of life, love, generosity and care for others. He spent his adult life working and building the legacy of Atlantic as a growing family business, coaching Jon and Alex’s sports teams, always taking the team out for dinner, win or lose, and spending time with family in Brewster at Sears Point. Outside of work and family time, we could always find Joe on the golf course. Whether it was Captains in Brewster, Framingham Country Club, or the Renaissance in Fort Myers, FL, his big love on top of family was golf. The Framingham Country Club and the Renaissance were special places for Joe – he was always happy to be there and had a special place in his heart for his relationships with the staff and members.

‘Jody’, as he was known by family and friends, will always be remembered for his humor, laughter, companionship, and kindness. He lived a wonderful life full of family, friends, and golf, and will be deeply missed.

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham on Friday, Jun. 28 from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Needham on Saturday, June 29 at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.

Donations in Joe’s name can be made to the Framingham Country Club Charitable Foundation. The Framingham Country Club Charitable Foundation’s goal is to positively impact our local communities by awarding grants to worthy organizations that serve individuals within the Metro West area.
