Obituary

ROCKWELL, Rosanne (DiPietro) of Walpole, a resident for 47 years, formerly of Dedham and Stoughton.

Age 84. April 14, 1940 - June 19, 2024.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosanne Rockwell, who departed this life peacefully on June 19, 2024 at the age of 84. Rosanne was a beacon of grace, warmth and love, whose presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rosanne was born and raised in Dedham and was a 1958 graduate of Dedham High School. Beloved daughter of the late Nicola DiPietro of Pollutri, Italy and Barbara DiPietro (DeLapa) of Dedham. Sister of Mary B. DiPietro of Dedham and the late Dominic DiPietro. Former wife of William H. Rockwell Jr. Mother of James M. Rockwell of Medfield, Joseph F. Rockwell of Boston, Thomas B. Rockwell of Walpole, and the late William H. Rockwell III. Grandmother of Roman J. Rockwell, Nicholas Rockwell, Michael Rockwell, Daniel Rockwell, Christopher Rockwell, Patrick Rockwell, and Colleen Rockwell. Close family friend of Timothy G. Flaherty, who was like a fifth son.

Beyond her family, Rosanne was a cherished friend, known for her loyalty, wisdom, and the comfort she provided to those around her. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her friendships were deeply treasured by all who knew her.

Rosanne had a deep affection for animals, especially her cats. She was passionate about gardening and you could usually find her outside working on her yard. Her other passions were 1950’s music and conversation (boy could she talk!). She loved the company of longtime friends and family. She had many cousins, nieces and nephews in Italy and Australia.

Rosanne’s elegance, compassion, and unwavering love will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty, style, and grace and her spirit will live in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Rosanne will truly be missed.
