Audrey Mae Lawson McFarland, 85, of Omega died Monday, December 13, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Omega Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Chris McFarland, Timmy McFarland, Michael McFarland, Aaron Parks, Stacey Gunn and Brandon McFarland will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. McFarland’s other grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. McFarland was born on May 4, 1925 in Colquitt County and was the daughter of Thomas E. Lawson and Gladys Page Lawson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Frank McFarland, Sr. She was retired from the Board of Education and was a member of Omega Baptist Church.
Mrs. McFarland is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Walter Frank Jr. and Linda McFarland of Omega, Charles Richard McFarland of Norman Park and Thomas Warren McFarland of Ellenton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Ann Gunn of Omega, Rose Marie and James Clark of Tifton and Audrey Jean and Jim Haas of Buena Vista, Florida; 20 grandchildren, Chris McFarland, Julie Johnson, Lori Studstill, Jamie McFarland, Michael McFarland, Hollie Harper, Pam Elrod, Karey Godwin, Timmy McFarland, Aaron Parks, Brett Clark, Heather Clark, Daphne Morgan, Joey Haas, Bradley Haas, Brandon McFarland, Hunter Haas, Stacey Gunn, Debbie Carter and Darby Carter; and 33 great-grandchildren.
