CHICOPEE – Lorraine C. (Hebert) Hundley, 99, a lifelong resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at Hampden surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Aldenville on July 30, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Emile and Roseanna (Lariviere) Hebert. She was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Cathedral High School. She was the Office Manager for the former Twin Company in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she was very active at her parish serving on the Evangelization Team for Fellowship on Sundays serving coffee and doughnuts and involved with Youth Ministry for her parish. She was also a volunteer at Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry and volunteered with the Yearly Variety Show for the Aldenville Junior Athletic Club (AJAC), both in Chicopee. Lorraine and her late husband, Don, traveled the world to places as far as China, Europe, and Hawaii. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Grover “Don” Hundley who was Called Home on August 14, 2012. They were married on November 27, 1947 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Richard C. Hundley and his wife, Nancy, of East Longmeadow and Kevin C. Hundley and his wife, Virginia, of Kennebunk, ME; her five cherished grandchildren, Sean Hundley and his wife, Rachel, Erin Hundley and her husband, Richard Krug, Tyler Hundley, Sam Hundley and his wife, Julie, and Wesley Hundley; her three cherished great grandchildren, Bennett Hundley, Kellan Krug, and Lilah Hundley, and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Leo Hebert and Rene Hebert and his wife, Shirley. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
