Linda Lee Witherell, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Hanson, passed away May 7, 2024, at the age of 81, in her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Raised and educated in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Ella L. Cady (Morgan). Linda was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School class of 1960. Her work career began as a secretary at McCarthy Bros. Ice Cream in Whitman, later as a travel agent and then as an account payable person at Flatley Company.
Linda loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling, gardening, crafts with her cherished friends, and dinners at the Standish Grille.
Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s life. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Joanne (Witherell) Bowen and her husband Paul of East Bridgewater and Barbara (Witherell) Williams and her husband John of Berkley. Proud “Gramma” of her five grandchildren Michael, Nicole and her fiancé John, Ashley and her husband Zachary, Lindsey and her husband Matthew, and Ryan and his wife Paige. Linda is also survived by her sisters Eunice McSweeney of Whitman, Joyce Cady of Plymouth, her late brother Henry Cady, several nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her cats Apollo, Madeline, Sophie, and her many other “grand-dogs” and “grand-cats.”
Family and friends are invited to attend Linda’s visiting hours Friday, May 10th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11th at 2:00 PM in the funeral chapel, with a burial to follow at Colebrook cemetery, Whitman.
