Linda Joyce Hand-Smith, 79, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Tim Harsey and the Rev. Dr. Jewrell Rivers officiating. Mrs. Hand will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Michael C. Smith, Matthew C. Smith, Chase D. Turner, Ross Parrish, Dusty Griffis and Russ Dillard will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 25, 1945, in Tifton, Mrs. Hand was the daughter of the late Roy Dillard and Helen Goodman Dillard. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, David C. Turner; her second husband, Thomas Hand; and one brother, Wayne Dillard. Before retiring, she was a paraprofessional and a bus driver with the Tift County Board of Education.
Mrs. Hand is survived by one son, David Phillip Turner of Tifton; one daughter, Lynn Osborne Young of Tifton; three grandsons and their wives, Michael C. and Kayla Smith, Matthew C. and Jasmine Smith and Chase Turner; and four great-grandchildren, Cullen Thomas Smith, Declan James Smith, McKenna Rae Smith and McClaine Isabelle Smith.
