Obituary

Loretta A. (Carpenter) Arbuckle, who recently returned home to Charlestown after living in Medford for 21 years, entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home in Charlestown. She was 80 years of age.

Loretta was born in Boston on September 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Edward M. Carpenter and Loretta C. (Glavin) Carpenter. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and Graduated from Charlestown High School in 1961. Loretta worked for 30 years as a Claims Support Agent for Safety insurance. She enjoyed playing BINGO at the Senior Center, her get togethers with her sisters, traveling to casinos, and taking trips to Las Vegas and to the White Mountains with her husband, Donald.

Loretta is the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Arbuckle. She is the devoted mother of Donna Murphy and her husband Kevin, and Edward Arbuckle and his wife Karen. She is the loving Nana of Ryan, Corey, and Mykaela Murphy, and to Matthew and Michael Arbuckle. She is the dear sister of Helen Carpenter, Mary Morin, Frank Carpenter, Cora Beals, and the late Edward Carpenter and Rose Carbonello. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Loretta's Funeral on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
