Obituary


Dorothy E. (Tingley) Carrozza, 95, of West Bridgewater, passed away on May 6th, 2024. She was the wife of the late Henry Carrozza and the late Rein De Young. Dorothy was born in West Bridgewater and lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Chester Tingley Sr. and Marion (Dunham) Tingley. Dorothy attended Brockton High School and was a waitress at the Capeway Manor. In later years, she worked at the Foxboro company. Dorothy also volunteered with Leaps in Literacy, teaching students in Brockton how to read. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed many cruises and traveling to Europe with family and friends. Dorothy loved dancing,1940's big band music, Bette Davis and Fred Astaire movies, books, and a good cup of tea.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, Paul Carrozza and his wife Donna of S. Weymouth; Nancy Carrozza CaraDonna of Miami, FL; John Carrozza of Pembroke; Anne Carrozza Remick and her husband Stephen of Dartmouth; five grandchildren Jules Carrozza, Matthew Carrozza, Theo Remick, Indigo CaraDonna and Tess Remick; three great grandchildren; Emma, Anthony, and Aubrey, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Chester Tingley, Miriam McVey, Donald Tingley, and Audrey Tingley.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dorothy's name to the charity of your choice.
