Doreen (Plante) Morel
September 9th 1960 - April 28th 2024

Doreen Morel was a courageous lady who battled pancreatic  cancer for a decade. Formerly of Lowell and Tyngsboro and currently resided in Chelmsford. She was the Daughter of Edward H. Plante and Mary B. McArdle. Formerly married to Robert A. Morel.

Graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She Worked at Wang Laboratories for many years. She Retired from U.P.S. after 26 years. Doreen's Grandchildren were the Love of her life. She also loved animals of all kinds especially Luna, Garfield, and Hazel. 

Doreen was selfless always looking to give gifts or provide for those in need, humans and animals alike. She fed the wild bunnies and birds in her backyard daily. She was a very proud grandmother who enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s soccer games. Doreen enjoyed spontaneous trips to the beach and loved seafood. She was known for enjoying a good horror movie, going to Canobie Lake Park with her family every summer, traveling, watching all the shows on TLC, decorating for different holidays, and cooking for her family. As her grandkids always told her “she made the best food.” 

Doreen is survived by 2 sons, Robert D. Morel Sr. of Chelmsford, Ryan B. Morel and his wife Shaniece (Cola) of Lowell and one daughter, Caitlin M. Silva and her husband Angelo Silva of Tyngsboro. A stepdaughter, Rebecca Medeiros of Lowell. Seven Grandchildren "Her pride and joy” Robert D. Morel Jr. and Jordan B. Morel of Westford, Rosalie M Silva and Emmett M Silva of Tyngsboro,  Ryan M. Morel of Lowell, Joseph Medeiros and Matthew Medeiros of Lowell. Also survived by her former daughter in law, Janeen Rahman Topjian and many loving cousins. She has a special place in her heart for her cousins, Jane McArdle and her husband David Boyd of Jacksonville, FL and Charles Robbins of Dracut. Also survived by her cousins, Ray McArdle, Barney McArdle, Eileen Delong, Maureen Ilg, Chrissy Frotten, Kathryn Westray James McArdle and many more. She was predeceased by her aunts, Alice Robbins, and Anna Norman, her uncles, Raymond McArdle, and James McArdle. Doreen was lucky to be surrounded by very loving and lifelong friends, (sister from another mister) Leslie and Al Wheeler, Venus Soukaras, Soula Howe, Karen Hurley, Pam Souza, Jean Marie Conway, and many others.

You are invited to her calling hours on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 3pm until 5pm at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852. Her funeral service will take place at the conclusion of the calling hours at 5pm in the funeral home. www.mcdonoughfuneralhome.com
