LIMERICK- Kaleigh Marie (Horne) Gibson, 37, tragically and unexpectedly passed away on 4/25/2024. She was born in Portland, ME on 5/20/1986, the daughter of Barry and Sandy (Parisi) Horne. After graduating from Gorham High School in 2004, she attended college at SMMC in South Portland and Wright State University in Fairborn, OH where she received her Bachelor's degree. She lived in Ohio for 9 years where she forged many amazing and close friendships (Stacey, Marsha, Kara, Jessica, Erin, Rachel, Andi, Abby, Stephanie and so many more). On 5/13/2013, she was baptized at First Baptist Kettering church and was an active and faithful follower of Christ our Savior. Her bestie from Ohio introduced her to her future husband, and on April 11, 2015, she married Darrel Lee Gibson in a beautiful ceremony and celebration of the life they planned to build together. In December 2015, they decided to move back to Maine to be closer to her Maine roots and family, and Darrel started his career working for the Portland Police Dept. On 12/09/2019, their son, George David was born, and they were overjoyed with the beginning of building their beautiful family. On 10/13/2023, their daughter Hazel Grace was born, and this little darling completed their family. Kaleigh worked at Lindsay's Kitchen at the Cornish Inn and the crew called her "our ray of sunshine", and again she forged many beautiful friendships with the Lindsay's Kitchen family crew. Kaleigh enjoyed many outdoor activities including so many boating adventures on Sebago Lake with family & friends, fishing with her dad, snowmobiling, hiking, and just being creative with her woodworking and painting talents. She was a member of The Rock Church in Scarborough, ME, where she met & became friends with so many who in turn became her second family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Darrel and two beautiful children, George & Hazel. Her parents Barry & Sandy Horne (Gorham), Linda Fuller (Ohio). Her uncles Jim Parisi and partner, Kevin Cough, Jeff Parisi and wife Sonia and son AJ; Stan & Louise Horne, and cousins, Kathy Horne Gallant and son Eric and daughter Nicky Peables & husband Preston and son Westin; Ross Horne and son Josh, Christal Partis and spouse Dana and sons Justin and Dylan; Travis Horne and wife Kerry and son Brendon, Brother in law Brian and wife Amanda, sister in law Julie Gibson Swisher and so many extended family members from NH, OH, TX, including family & friends from so many different parts of Kaleigh's life.
A funeral service will be held at The Rock Church, 66 Gorham Rd, Scarborough, ME on May 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. A celebration of Kaleigh's life reception will follow the service at the church.
