Obituary

Langhsiu Lin, 64, passed away on April 19, 2024. Born in Taiwan, she is survived by her devoted husband, loving son, and cherished daughter. She leaves behind six siblings and her parents. She is preceded in death by her beloved older brother.

Growing up in Taipei, Langhsiu graduated with a degree in English Literature from a top university, where she met her husband over a game of ping-pong. In their late 20s, they embarked on a journey to the USA, where Langhsiu’s nurturing spirit blossomed. The family settled in Westford, MA, where Langhsiu lived for three decades. She was the backbone of the Lin family household and stay-at-home mom through her children’s early elementary school years. Her nurturing extended to others in the community; she cared for the children of many family friends, and taught at the local Chinese school.

Langhsiu's dedication extended into her career as a civil servant, notably contributing to the Census, and serving as a tax examiner for over two decades. Beyond her professional commitments, she found solace in nature, relishing in New England summers when she would get up at dawn to pick blueberries, and in foliage trips every fall. She indulged her love for Korean dramas. Music held a special place in her heart, and she instilled this passion in her children, insisting on music lessons from a young age.

Disciplined and hardworking, Langhsiu was unwavering in her pursuit of integrity, adhering to her internal code of honor even when no one was looking. Yet, beneath her serious demeanor lay a playful and humorous soul, often surprising loved ones with her mischievous wit.

A viewing to celebrate Langhsiu's life will be held at the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home in Medford, MA on May 4, 2024, 1-3pm, providing an opportunity for friends and family to honor her memory.
