Shirley (McCarron) Deveney of North Port, FL, formerly of Mission Hill, Roslindale, and Prince Edward Island, Canada, passed away on April 16, 2024. Beloved wife of the late John Edmund Deveney. Devoted mother of Shawn Deveney and his wife Ewa of Norwell, Steven Deveney and his wife Donna of Mansfield, Edward Deveney and his wife Adrienne of Hyde Park, and Brian Deveney and his wife Catherine of Attleborough. Dear sister of Sandra Daley of Ontario, Canada, Barry McCarron, Winnie McGuigan, Stella Creed, Brian McCarron, Jerry McCarron all of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and the late Harold McCarron. Loving grandmother of Jolanta, Amanda, and Christian Deveney, Cheyenne Watanave and her husband Akinori. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Shirley enjoyed her retirement with her husband of 50 years, they loved traveling between Florida and Prince Edward Island and many stops along the way. She always enjoyed shopping, yard sales, always looking for the next good deal.
She enjoyed sitting on her Lani in Florida drinking coffee and chatting with friends, aways saying hi to anyone she didn’t know.
Spending time with her family and friends was Shirley's favorite thing to do. Whether it was shopping, walks with her grand-dogs, or watching Wheel of Fortune... As long as it was with family, she was happy.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury, on Monday, April 22nd at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private. Visiting Hours Sunday, April 21st from 2pm to 6pm in the Funeral Home.
