Obituary

Frances M. (Giardina) DeFazio, a longtime Woburn resident formerly of Boston's West End, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the age of 90, following a period of declining health. "Honey", as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was the beloved wife of the late Domenic R. DeFazio. Born in Boston, Honey was the oldest of five children of the late Anthony and Josephine (Bova) Giardina.

Raised and educated in Boston, Honey was a graduate of Brighton High School with the class of 1951. Honey will fondly be remembered for devotion to her family and friends. She was the true matriarch of her family, the "glue" that kept everyone connected. She loved talking on the phone keeping up to date with her family and friends, helping to solve any and all issues. Her home was always the hub of activity with an open-door policy, you never left hungry and if you were lucky enough you were able to enjoy a delicious meatball or two. Over the years, Honey and her family enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Falmouth. Family meant everything to Honey, and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved and cared about.

Honey is survived by her children, Camille Lovasco of Woburn and her late companion Salvatore, Janice Picklus of East Bridgewater, Donna Morgan and her husband David of Augusta, MT. She was the loving grandmother of Tyler Picklus and his fiancé Kristy, Travis Picklus, Tanner Picklus and the late Jason Marinaccio. Sister of Anthony Giardina and his wife Jackie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joanne Gasbarro and her husband Jesse of Medford, Marie Rankin of Peabody, and Suzanne Dellolio of Woburn. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
