Westport – Shirley A. (Tripp) Cabral, 91, of Westport died Monday, November 7, 2005 at home. She was the widow of Joseph P. Cabral.
She was born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Arthur L. and Mildred (Gammons) Tripp, and had resided in Westport since 1934. Mrs. Cabral was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. A graduate of Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School, she was a member of the Allen’s Neck Women’s Club and a member of Westport Women’s Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and fishing, but most of all, loved spending time with her family by the Westport River.
She is survived by 5 sons: Joseph L. Cabral of Westport, Manuel P. Cabral of Florida, John E. Cabral of Tiverton, RI, David P. Cabral of Westport and William H. Cabral of Westport; 3 daughters: Virginia Famolare of Burlington, MA, Lydia Camara of S. Dartmouth and Sharon Miranda of Westport; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Arthur Tripp, Warren Tripp, James Tripp, Virginia Benson and Norma Kelso.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
