Marion Olive (Grozier) Joseph, 84 of North Truro, MA died peacefully on February 24, 2015 after a sudden illness. Born in North Truro on February 11, 1931, she was the only child of the late Irene Olive (Thomas) and George Wilfred Grozier.
She attended Provincetown High School and was married to the late Raymond S. Joseph of Truro, MA. She was previously married to William O. Cox of Winston-Salem, NC.
Marion owned and operated Joseph’s Rubbish Removal and EZ Rest Cottages right up to the time of her illness. She greatly enjoyed talking to and “catching up” with her many customers over the years; it was never just a business call. Previously, she worked in the kitchen at the Truro Central School, and also owned the Pamet Yarn & Craft Shop for many years.
She was a member of the Ladies Aide Society when it was active at the Christian Union Church in North Truro, helping to raise money for charitable works and church upkeep. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and crafts of all kinds, as well as gardening, puzzles, and cooking. She loved animals, growing orchids, watching westerns, HGTV and MSNBC. Above all, she was an avid NASCAR fan and eagerly anticipated the start of each racing season and watching the races each week.
She is survived by a son, Douglas W. Cox and his partner Pam Donahue of Truro, and Pam’s two sons, James Rego and Brandon Donahue; a daughter, Susan I. Cox, of Cambridge, a granddaughter, Kimberly E. Johnson and her partner James Shea and a great granddaughter, Hayden Taylor Shea, all of Eastham. She also leaves a cousin, dear friend and confidant, Eileen Thomas and her husband, Harris Adams of North Truro; and cousins Eleanor (Thomas) Marshall, of Pomona, CA, and Elizabeth Thomas, of Ontario, CA.
A service and burial will be scheduled for later in the spring.
