Obituary

SALEM - Naoma H. (Humphrey) Haseltine, 88, wife of the late Carroll E. Haseltine, died Wednesday morning, November 17, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Mae (Bezanson) Humphrey.

Naoma enjoyed working for Douglas E. Newhall as a dental hygienist in Salem for 30 years.

She lived in Swampscott for twenty years raising her family. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Swampscott, where she also taught Sunday School.
Naoma is survived by two daughters, Naoma Boylston of Salem, Paula and her husband Arthur Howe of Pocasset, two grandchildren, Trevor Boylston and B.J. Boylston, both of Salem, three step sons, Carroll “Eddy” Haseltine of New Zealand, John D. Haseltine of Ocala, FL, Robert W. Haseltine of Salem, a step-daughter, Christine Haakenson of Cumberland, RI, eleven step-grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” and her husband James Shatswell of Salem, Vera-Jean Stramski of Danvers, and several nieces and nephews. Naoma was also predeceased by her first husband, Harris T. Phinney and a brother, Melvin Humphrey.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 from Noon to 2 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
