Obituary

THOMPSON, CT - Charlotte L. (Cyr) Galvin, 84, died Friday, July 8, 2016 in UMass/Memorial University Campus surrounded by her family. Her husband of 14 years, James P. Galvin, died in 1998.

She leaves her son, Brian R. Paquette and his wife Bernice, with whom she lived; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Fusco, Sr., Nicholaus Paquette and his wife Sarah, Kyle Paquette and his wife Penny, and Joseph Paquette; 4 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jr., Austin, Chandon and Aubrey; a sister, Margaret Marrier of Webster, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Henry and Stasia (Taberski) Cyr. She lived in Thompson for 55 years.

Mrs. Galvin was a machine operator at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for over 50 years before retiring.

She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in North Grosvenordale. She was an active member and former treasurer of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, a member and former vice-president of the PACC and a member of the PNA, all in Webster. As a member of the auxiliary , she volunteered her help at bingo games with the patients at Webster Manor, Lanessa Extended Care and Brookside Rehab. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She built up an extensive collection of ceramic elephants. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the highlight of her life.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 13, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 18 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Joseph School, 26 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255.
