Obituary

MILLBURY-Carolyn Martha (Danforth) Oliver, 86, of Millbury, died peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. For the past 8 months she had resided at Knollwood Nursing Center and 5 years at Radius Health Care, both in Worcester. Her husband of 58 years, Arthur R. Oliver predeceased her on May 6, 2011.

She leaves three children; Steven A. Oliver and his wife Eileen of Belmont, NH, Christine A. Gemme and her husband Carl of Millbury and Douglas K. Oliver and his wife Jodi of Paxton; three grandchildren, Richard M. and Victoria A. Gemme and Garret N. Oliver; and a sister, Linda Marie Danforth of Millbury. A brother, Arthur Danforth predeceased her.

Carolyn was born in Worcester daughter of Arthur H. and Martha W. (Johnson) Danforth and graduated in 1946 from North High School. She loved to read and could always be found collecting a new story or two, she loved her flower gardens and her many cats and could always be found feeding all of the stray cats in the neighborhood, and her own cats, including Kitten. She made the best potato and egg salad that anyone ever had! Carolyn loved to travel with her husband, Art, and she greatly enjoyed taking long rides and visiting botanical gardens. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed great times with her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.
