Obituary

WORCESTER — Frank J. Berkiel, Jr., 82, of Worcester, died Monday, June 13 at Saint Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Rose I. (Ruggiere) Berkiel; a daughter, Lori J. Boucher and her husband Michael of Worcester; a son, Frank J. Berkiel, III and his wife Shirley of Worcester; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Robert Berkiel of Sterling; three sisters, Beverly Maurais of Worcester, Carol Bazin of Sutton and Gail Donnelly of Colorado Springs, CO; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a grandson.

Frank was born in Worcester, son of Frank J., Sr. and Helen (Zellmer) Berkiel Visceto and graduated from Commerce High School and completed the mechanical drafting program at Worcester Boys Trade School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 10 years. Frank worked for 38 years at Heald Machine until its closing and then at Sleeper & Hartley Manufacturing. He also worked at Spag’s and Lowes. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and oil painting.

The Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 17 at 11:30am at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. A visiting hour will also be held on Friday from 10am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.
