LEICESTER: Lorraine A. (Plante) Joyce, 81, of Brookside Drive died Thursday, June 9 in her home surrounded by her children after an illness.
Her husband, Richard S. Joyce died in 1996. She leaves three sons; Francis T. Joyce and his wife Patricia of Leicester, Terrence C. Joyce and his wife Julie of Braintree and Richard W. Joyce and his wife Jennifer of Natick, a daughter; Kathleen E. Barron and her husband Vincent of Paxton, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; William Plante and Donald "Joe" Plante.
Mrs. Joyce was born in Worcester, daughter of Aldege F. and Catherine F. (Reilly) Plante. She graduated from Charlton High School in 1953 and Becker Junior College in Worcester in 1955. She was a medical secretary for 25 years in Dr. Adrian F. Bom's office before retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Joseph's - St. Pius X parish. The family would like to thank Notre Dame Hospice and especially her nurse Beth for their compassionate care.
The funeral will be held Monday, June 13 in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
