Worcester, MA - Jo-Ann F. (Peterson) Paro, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016. Her husband of 48 years, Alfred W. Paro, Jr., died in 2000. She leaves 3 daughters: Linda Paro Devillers, Lisa Moody, and Martha Keller; 5 grandchildren: Jeffrey Keller, Jessica Horton and her husband Maurice, Andrew Moody, Kourtney Keller, and Melissa Moody; 3 great-grandchildren: Maurice Horton, Jr., Kiyla Stevenson-Mays, and Reginald Horton; brother, Lee Peterson and his wife Cynthia; and a sister, Lois Oosterman. A daughter, Joyce Davis, preceded her in death as well as 7 of her siblings.
Jo-Ann was born in Worcester, one of ten children of the late Laura (Wood) and John Peterson. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and Quinsigamond Community College. She was a bookkeeper for the Worcester Stamp Company, a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and also enjoyed the beach and sewing.
Services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, May 12. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, May 13. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Jewish Healthcare and Hospice.
