Obituary

West Boylston - Frances (Robbins) Sawers, 97, formerly of Holden and the Goddard House, died Monday, May 2, 2016, in the Knollwood Nursing Center. She was the widow of Charles H. Sawers (d. 1987). Frances was born in Lexington, North Carolina, daughter of the late Bertha (Michael) and Guthrie E. Robbins. She was predeceased by her brother, Terry E. Robbins, and her sister, Elise R. Boswell.

Frances attended North Carolina State College and the Pratt Institute. Frances worked in the Architectural field as a drafting and business manager. She and her husband resided in Holden, where they lived for many years. She was a member of the Greendale People's Church in Worcester. Frances is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Saturday, May 7, with a prayer service at 4pm followed by visitation until 6pm. The Rev. Carla Dietz, pastor of Greendale People's Church will preside. Burial in Massachusetts will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester MA 01606 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
