Obituary

Randolph “Randy” Jones of Dedham died February 21, 2008 at his home. He was 63 years old. He was the beloved husband of Susan M. (Bruni) Jones.

Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late Dr. J. Cedric and Marion (Ashcom) Jones. He has been a Dedham resident for 31 years. He was a graduate of the College of Architecture at the University of Washington in 1967. He later received his Master of Architecture and Master of City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania in 1973. He was a Principal of the Jones Payne Group of Boston, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and he served on the AIA Regional Urban Design Committee. He served in Vietnam as a U.S. Navy Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps.

He was the devoted father of Randolph M. Jones of Dedham and Emily F. Jones of Dedham. Brother of Dr. J. Frederick Jones and his wife Chris of Oklahoma City, Gregg C. Jones of Colorado Springs, CO, Rita Christie and her husband Ryan of Cody, WY and Duke Early and his wife Kay of Pinedale, WY.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 8 AM with a funeral mass in St. Susanna’s Church, Dedham, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment services are private. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
