Mary (Medeiros) Soares, age 94, of Fall River, passed away July 25, 2009. Widow of Manuel P. Soares and daughter of the late Frank Seth Medeiros & Maria (Costa) Medeiros. Before retiring, Mary worked in the Garment Industry and enjoyed arts & crafts, cooking, and sewing.
She is survived by her son William P. Soares of Fall River, four siblings: Frank S. Medeiros Jr., Joseph S. Medeiros, Antone S. Medeiros, and Irene Correia all of Fall River. Five grandchildren: Nancy H. Vadeboncoeur of Fall River, David J. Lopes of Somerset, Todd W. Soares of Bellingham, Glenn Correia of MA, and Lisa Caton of Somerset. Four great grandchildren: Eric M. Vadeboncoeur of New Bedford, Daniel J. Vadeboncoeur of Fall River, Kevin & Thomas Caton both of Somerset. Two great-great grandchildren: Jacob E. & Julia M. Vadeboncoeur both of N. Dartmouth. Many nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Marjorie Lopes and sister of the late August S., Manuel S., Edward S. Medeiros, and Dorothy Wing.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521N. Main St. TUESDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 4-8 P.M.
