Obituary

Madeleine G. (Provost) Roy, 74, of Manchester died April 16, 2010 at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Born in Manchester on April 4, 1936, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Irene (Lavigne) Provost. She was a graduate of Hesser College and lived in Manchester most of her life.
Mrs. Roy worked for the City of Manchester for 34 years and retired in 1989 as Deputy Finance Officer. She also served as ward moderator of Ward 10 for 20 years and was a trustee of the Manchester City Library.
She enjoyed cooking and was a gifted seamstress and quilter. Her favorite retreat was at Lake Ossipee.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes her husband of 51 years, Ronald L. Roy of Manchester; three children, Michelle M. Savrann and her husband, Stephen, of Sharon, MA, Lisa A. Roy of Manchester and Paul D. Roy and his wife, Jeanine, of Goffstown; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle and Andrew Savrann; Spencer and Chandler Duhamel; Chase Fudala; and Alexis and Garrett Roy; two sisters, Sr. Cecile Provost, CSC of Jaffrey and Denise Morin of Pinardville; a brother, George Provost of Dennis, MA; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Provost.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St., Manchester. Burial was at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
