Obituary

Tiverton, RI - Caroline J. (Malinoski) LaValley, 67, of Tiverton, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 20, 2007 at home. She was the widow of Joseph F. LaValley.

Born in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Andrew P. and Irene J. (Puhopek) Malinoski, she had lived in Tiverton for 5 years. She grew up in W. Springfield, MA, moving to Longmeadow, MA when she married and later lived in Haverhill, MA. Prior to retirement, she was a registered nurse at Hunterdon Medical in Flemington, NJ, where she was instrumental in developing the Home Health Services Program and the In Home Infusion Program. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister, she loved to spend time with her family and traveled extensively to be with them. She was an avid reader and loved spending winters in the warm climate. Mrs. LaValley was known locally for making the clam chowder at the Westport Point United Methodist Church annual clambake. She was also a member of the YWCA in Springfield and was past president of the Paderewski Polish Womens Club in Springfield. She established the first A.B.C. (A Better Chance) House in Longmeadow, MA.

Survivors include 2 sons: Jeffrey J. LaValley of Westport, MA and David J. LaValley of Denver, CO; a daughter: Sarah E. Guettinger of Neuheim, Switzerland; 2 sisters: MaryAnne Lalley of Denver, NC and Andrea F. Bara of Wilbraham, MA; 8 grandchildren: Julia, Peter, Benjamin, Taylor, Joseph, Maxwell, Christian and Ethan; a niece and 2 nephews: Ashley, Mark and Adam.

Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, 1912 Main Rd., Westport Point, MA at 11:00 A.M.
