Obituary

William J. Blyth Jr., 70, of Groveland, MA, died Sunday at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill, MA.

William was born and raised in Lawrence, MA, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1955 and from Merrimack College in 1971. He was a resident of Groveland for the past 43 years.

William was a Logistics Engineer for Raytheon Corporation retiring from the Burlington, MA office, but he had worked in various locations. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in No. Andover, the Groveland Congregational Church, and was an active friend with the Universalist Unitarian Church in Haverhill, MA. He was the Treasurer for the Groveland Council on Aging and a member of the Friends of the Council on Aging. William was in the National Guard and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, was an avid reader, loved his garden, and working around his yard and home. William was a devoted husband and father.

Survived by: Wife: Trudy (MacLean) Blyth of Groveland, MA

Daughter: Susan Blyth & husband Chris Murry of Sherman Oaks, CA.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20th at 10 AM at the Funeral Home.
