Sr. Lillian Paula Cravinho, S.S.D. of Our Lady of Fatima Convent, Warren, RI, died at Rhode Island Hospital on Oct. 23, 2009.
She was 84.
Born in Taunton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Delphina (Berthao) Cravinho.
Educated in Taunton and NY schools, Sr. Lillian graduated from the Academy of St. Dorothy, and received a B.A. in Education from Fordham University, both in NY, later receiving her M.A. in Guidance & Counseling from City University of NY.
A gifted teacher for many years, she also served as principal of the Academy of St. Dorothy, and St. Patrick School, both in NY, and Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren.
Sr. Lillian was currently serving as guidance counselor at Our Lady of Fatima High School.
She leaves a brother, Edmund Cravinho of Salem, Oregon; a sister, Bella Maclean of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Alfred, George, Charles, and Antone Cravinho, and the late Agnes Medeiros.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 27th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 26th, from 4 to 8 p.m.
