BEVERLY: John T. Doty, 37, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 23, 2010. He was born at the Portsmouth Naval Base on November 11, 1972.
John enjoyed many parts of life, including a passion for fitness and the outdoors. He visited the gym several times a week, where he trained in many types of mixed martial arts. He will be missed by all who loved him. “John Thomas Doty is awesome.”
He is survived by his mother and her companion, Susan J. Searles and Peter DeMila of Beverly, his father, George H. Doty of the North Pole, Alaska, a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer L. and Joseph Boyan of Groveland, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Adam T. and Yvette Doty of El Centro, CA and McKenzie S. King of Provincetown, two nephews, Joseph J. Boyan and Jacob T. Doty, maternal grandmother, Barbara Burns of Beverly, his beloved soul mate, Etta Smith and many extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 7 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
