Obituary

Albert L. Ventura, 81, a resident of Malden for many years, passed away on January 4th, 2011. He was born in Somerville on November 25th, 1929 to his parents Erasmo and Erasma (Macera) Ventura. Albert was raised and educated in Somerville, graduating from Somerville High School, Class of 1947. He served his country honorably during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. For over 35 years, Albert worked as an engineer for New England Telephone. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6800 in Somerville and the American Legion Post 69 in Malden. He was also a member the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Association of Bell Retirees. He is survived by his wife, Rita M. (Woods) Ventura; by his children; Donna Morabito and her husband Fred of Malden, Jo-Ann Chesley of Methuen, Laura Yurek and her husband James of Malden and Paula Ventura of Medford; by his grandchildren Michelle, Nicole, Melissa, Michael, Mark, Meagan, Paige and Faith; and by his great grandchildren Alec, Dylan, Colin and Sophia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Albert was predeceased by his siblings; Mary Spinosa, Ray Ventura, Tina Fantasia and Elena Pasciuto. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday January 7th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday January 6th from 4-8 PM.
