Without doubt, family was always extremely important to Tom.
We remember with deep gratitude how Tom frequently went out of his way to visit Grandma Helen O'Reilly in her waning months.
Always a gentleman, Tom will be always be remembered as a gentle man. Of his passing at age 51, we can only think it was too soon, that he had much more to give in an already productive life.

We are very sorry to hear about Tom's death. It is a tragic loss. In my mind, of course, he'd remained the oldest Kennedy kid who was younger than me, but it is apparent that he'd grown into a wonderful man.
