Obituary

Zuravel, David, 98of Revere and formerly of Chelsea passed away on February 26, 2011 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living. David was born in Russia and resided in Chelsea for 66 years and 23 years in Revere. He attended the Chelsea Schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. David was a retired employee of the Chelsea School Department and a retired employee of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. He was also the retired owner of Ace Cab Company, Cary Sq., Chelsea and was employed by many other taxi cab companies. David was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a former member of the Shurtleff St. Shule and a former member of the Cary Sq. Club. Dave was an avid fisherman and an exceptional athlete at baseball, speed skating, water skiing, swimming, diving, boating and loved the outdoors. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed having a cold beer or a glass of scotch.

David was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Rubenstein) Zuravel. He was the devoted father of Hal A. Zuravel and his wife Patricia and Jeffrey J. Zuravel. He was the loving grandfather of Mark Zuravel.

Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Interment in Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Hal and Patricia Zuravel, Monday following the interment until 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Jack Satter House 420 Revere Beach Blvd. Revere, MA in the Community Room 9th floor from 3:00-7:00 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Leonard Florence Center for Living 165 Captains Row Chelsea, MA 02150.
