Obituary

Simone, Dorothy C. (Natola) of New Hampshire formerly of Peabody, at age 83 on Jan. 30, 2011. Beloved wife of Frank Simone. Devoted mother of Karen January & companion Jim McLaughlin of North Andover, and Janet Leonard of New Hampshire. Dear sister of Mary Cunio of Peabody and the late Ann Timpani, Phyllis Gesualdo, Vittorio “Mike”  and Frank Natola. Also survived by three loving grandchildren Steven Leonard, Christin Leonard and Michelle Lefever & husband Jason and two great grandchildren David Michael & Josiah Samuel Lefever.  Her third great grandchild is due in September. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio  & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St. REVERE on Friday, Feb. 4th at 11:30 am. Followed by a service in the funeral home at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A home maker for most of her life, Dorothy loved spending time with and taking care of her family. Dorothy C. (Natola) Simone, age 83, a longtime resident of Peabody, passed away January 30, 2011 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She had lived with Parkinson’s Disease for over 40 years. Dorothy was born April 30, 1927 in Revere, the daughter of the late Rose and Guy Natola. She graduated from Revere High School in 1945. She married Frank Simone in 1949 and their 62nd anniversary would have been April 24th. In 1962 she moved to Peabody where she lived for 43 years until she had to have nursing home care.

Dorothy was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed musical shows such as Lawrence Welk, and her favorite sitcom was The Golden Girls. She was a meticulous homemaker with a talent for flower arranging. She is survived by her husband Frank of Epping NH, and her two daughters, Karen January of North Andover, MA and Janet Leonard of Epping, NH. Also survived by grandchildren Steven Leonard, Christin Leonard, and Michelle Lefever and her husband Jason Lefever. Great grandchildren are David Michael Lefever and Josiah Samuel Lefever, with a third great grandchild expected in September. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Cunio of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Phyllis Gesualdo, Ann Timpani, Frank Natola and Mike Natola.

Dorothy was a gentle sweet spirit who was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She fought her battle with Parkinson’s with courage, strength, and dignity. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is at peace in heaven. They look forward to being together with her again there. She will be greatly missed and deeply loved always.

A memorial service will be held at the Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere on Friday February 4th at 11:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
