Obituary

BEVERLY: Adelma H. (Fahy) Rogan, 90, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late William J. Rogan, who died in July of 1974.
Born in Geneva, New York on February 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Thomas K. and Margaret (Murphy) Fahy. She had resided in Geneva for many years before moving to Beverly fifty-five years ago. She was a graduate of William Smith College, Geneva, NY in 1942.
Adelma was employed as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over twenty years before her retirement in 1987. She had volunteered at the Beverly Hospital for many years. She loved sharing time with her family and friends and she enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched with her warmth, humor and compassion.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” and Stefan J. Palmer of Danvers; a son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Patricia Rogan of Beverly; five grandchildren, Amy, Stefan, Jr., Michael, Ashley and Jessica; a great-grandson, Andrew and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Louise Welch.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday in the St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the charity of one’s choice. Interment will be held in the North Beverly Cemetery.
