WORCESTER-Theresa L. (Rondeau) Desautels, 84, of Worcester, died Saturday, January 1st in St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband of 33 years, Francis X. Desautels; two sons, Gregory R. Jurgiel and Stephen P. Jurgiel and his wife Diane, both of Worcester; her daughter, Pamela A. Rossetti and her husband John A. Rossetti, Jr. of Worcester; her brother, Alfred A. Rondeau, Jr. of Worcester; two sisters, Anita F. Lopardo of Worcester and Rita Lundeen of Spencer; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; family and friends, including Colleen and Bob Watkins of Ocala, FL; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her grandson, Daniel J. Rossetti and two sisters, Lucille L. Lewis and Noella Kirk.
Mrs. Desautels was born in Worcester, the daughter of Alfred and Edwidge (Cauchon) Rondeau. She as a printer for 17 years at the Worcester Envelope Company, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Desautels was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Despite her battle with breast cancer for over 25 years, Theresa had a zest for life. She always had a smile on her face and a quick wit. She loved playing bingo and was a frequent winner. Crossword puzzles and word jumbles were another of her past times. When she was a little younger she loved line dancing, traveling, yoga, exercising at the gym and swimming. Frank, her husband, was always at her side, enjoying life and then caring for her up to the end of her life. They were inseparable. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her- friends and family. Her courage and her "never a complaint" attitude will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
The funeral is Wednesday, January 5th with a service at 10:30 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Tuesday January 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
