Obituary

WORCESTER-John J. Fleming, Sr., 87, of Worcester, died Wednesday, October 27th in Golden Living Center-The Hermitage. His wife Bridget F. (Lyne) Fleming died in 2002. He leaves his son, John J. Fleming, Jr., of Worcester; his daughter Ellen T. Fleming of Arlington; many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. His brother, Gerald Fleming and three sisters, Mary and Theresa Fleming and Margaret Cleary predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of John J. and Bridget (Finnegan) Fleming; and was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School. Mr. Fleming was a World War II Army veteran. He had been employed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Works as a chauffeur/laborer; and had previously worked for General Motors in its Framingham plant. Mr. Fleming was a member of the former St. Charles Borromeo Parish and a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

The funeral is Monday, November 1st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with Mass at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, October 31st from 3:00 until 5:30 PM in the funeral home.
