Obituary

Bertrand A. Lavergne 86, a resident of St. Antoine Residence, formerly of 60 School St., died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Pearl (Baker) Lavergne. Mr. Lavergne was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Ulderic and Helen (Laliberte) Lavergne. He was a salesman for Peter Pan Ice Cream for twenty eight years before retiring. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the VFW in Forestdale.

Mr. Lavergne is survived by his beloved companion Louisette Caron of North Smithfield, two sons Denis Lavergne of Johnston, and Laurent Lavergne of Harrisville, a daughter Diane Laferriere of Scituate, two brothers Andre Lavergne of Bristol, and Dorand Lavergne of AZ, six grandchildren, Kevin Lavergne of Johnston, Brian Lavergne of FL, Jerry Laferriere Jr. of FL, Laurie Enright of Scituate, Lisa Picillo of N. Smithfield, and Steven Lavergne of Harrisville, and twelve great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Constant and Jules Lavergne and Gertrude Vanasse.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Theresa's Church, Dion Dr. in Nasonville. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday 4-8 PM.
