Uncle Tom was truly a unique man. He never met a stranger. And, was always eager to share his experienes, wisdom, and stories. He had great pride and could not be more proud of all of his family. I am blessed for having the opportunity to know him. He will be deeply missed. The Kentucky Derby will never be the same! Much Love to all of our family, Jason, Holly, and Grace Miller

Uncle Tommy was not a big man in physique, but he was large in his presence and in spirit. His laugh will remain in my heart and memory forever. Kindhearted and generous is an understatement in describing him. There was and forever will only be one Thomas Hantakas, Sr. He truly made his mark on earth as I'm sure he is now as he is entertaining the angels. We will miss you until the day we are all reunited in eternal glory. Rest peacefully, Uncle Tommy.

Dear Donna, Tom, Jr. and the entire Hantakas Family, Our deepest and heartfelt condolences on Uncle Tommy's passing. Tommy's legacy is extensive as is his list of friends, extended families and those he helped throughout his life. We mourn his passing but most importantly, celebrate his life and work. For me, I will always remember his smile, caring for others, friendship to the Troy family, and his life full of adventure, challenges and great accomplishments. He will always be remembered and valued for the unique, genuine person he was and what he did for others. Not many of us can say we positively impacted the lives of others. Uncle Tommy did, and in a very big way. We are all better people for having known him! Donna and Tom, Jr.- Sam, Danielle and the entire Troy family send their condolences and our hearts and prayers are with you. Uncle Tommy will be surely missed by all but will remain in our hearts forever. ---Jim Troy & Family

Dear Cousins Donna and Tom, and family, no words can truly express my deepest sympathy and sadness, but joy in knowing that Uncle Tom lived a good life. I wish I could have visited more often. I'll always remember and cherish our visits, his laugh, his sense of humor, his stories, his love of horse races, words of wisdom, generosity, and mostly his love of family. I know he had a special place in his heart for his children, grandchildren and sisters, especially his sister, Thelma LaSalvia, my mother. I will miss Uncle Tom. I send my love and prayers for Uncle Tom and all our family, JoAnn Lasalvia Guillot and family, Anna and Michael Guillot

If this is the brother of George Hantakas then I am the great nephew of Mr. Thomas Hantakas. Growing up I heard My mother, Margaret Hantakas, tell me about her father (George Hantakas) having a brother named “Tommy” who “Lived back east”. My mother also mentioned her having a great “Aunt Annie” whom I believe may be Ann Deleo. If this is the Tommy Hantakas that I am related to, I am sorry for this loss and wish I would have known this man. If this is another Thomas Hantakas, I am sorry for your loss as well. Thank You.
