Gilberte D. (Laforce) Moody, 88, of Mattapoisett died August 19, 2010 at Southeastern Massachusetts Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Roland J. Moody.
Born in Oostende, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Johanna (Salliau) Laforce. She married Roland in England after World War II and came to the United States. She lived in Hyde Park, MA until moving to Mattapoisett in 1960.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her 8 children, Carol J. Weeks of Travelers Rest, SC, Janice L. Moody of Falls Church, VA, Ronald P. Moody of Litchfield, NH, Nicole M. Borrelli and Denise L. Moody, both of Mattapoisett, Robert D. Moody of Wareham, Michele A. Sullivan of Manassas, VA and Lynne A. Moody of Lakeville; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Billy, Peter, Justin, Megan, Samantha, Trevor, Tommy, Molly, Jillian, and Garrett; and 2 nephews, Peter and John Laforce.
She was the sister of the late Jack Laforce.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 23rd at 12:30 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett. Her family will receive guests on Monday morning from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM prior to her service. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
